Yeah... I was the junior of my class. Someone was able to hold MIA much earlier. Also my Class was 01/26/26.. so pretty much February. I would say that you can hold MIA in about 8/10 months. I am being realistic.

What about ORD, is that an easy base to get out of training?

Most junior ORD is an October 2016 hire. He hasn't finished IOE. So new hire at the moment. ORD has been easier to get as a new hire lately than it used to be. Historically it takes a few months to hold it, so don't be surprised if you don't get ORD in class.

It might be different now as AA canceled all the flying with us out of ORD.

I'm getting close to start applying to several airlines. I have 11,000 total time with over 9,000 turbine pic (low multi and instrument time). Should I be looking at a company with fast upgrade time or will that matter with me haveing turbine pic already?

If you're referring to the AA flying in ORD, it was announced a few weeks ago that all of our flying would be shifted to PHL and MIA. Therefore we are not losing planes or flights, they are just being shifted to other bases.

The only ORD flying we will be doing now will be for UA and DL.

Can anyone give me an idea about the security of the MCI base? I don't mean long term, but for the next year or two. I've narrowed my choices to Republic and Envoy. The schedules at Envoy sound like they will continue for a while and I'd have to commute on top of that. With Republic, I could drive to MCI as long as I could get that as a base relatively quickly. I would probably be the oldest in my class if that helps towards selection.

It's literally anyone's guess. I've spoke with some people that think it's going to close in favor of IAH, and then I've spoke to other people who believe it's going to stay open.

I know that's probably not the answer you were looking for, but the only people that might actually know are upper management and there's been no official announcement regarding any base openings/closures.

In a memo dated Nov 30th, the company said that "At this time we do not have any base changes planned." So there's that, but that could change any minute.
