5000 PIC and up is absolutely false. The average non mil civilian hired at Delta has about 8500 total hours. You really think 5000 or more of that is PIC? Not even close. The majority have around 1000 T-PIC or less and in the case of the civilian FOs we hire they typically have none.

I really don't know. But WhiskeyDelta above seems to have some insight.

I was actually kidding but in this environment and looking ahead to where the hiring is going, it probably will have no bearing at all.

Boy, I know as soon as I got 1000 of PIC, I couldn't stop the harassing phone calls from all the Legacy Airlines begging me to work for them.

Ughh, Nope. Average PIC is much higher than 1,000. Even Military is around 2000+.

The conversation recently in this thread has been implied to be about turbine PIC. This chart doesn't make the distinction between T-PIC and non-T-PIC. My main contention is that the magical 1000 hours T-PIC isn't as important as it once was.

Those numbers imply TPIC. From speaking to them at a job fair. The average civilian is still around 3500-4000 TPIC and 7K TT. UAL is similar.

We've hired some very high time civilians (20-25k hours) that have skewed that data. Notice the averages since Jan 2014 then look at the entire year for 2015. See the decline (granted that was a partial year at the time of that snapshot)? I bet they will continue to go down.

Speaking from my experience and from what I know of the people that have been hired here from my former regional, the average hasn't been anywhere close to those PIC numbers.

Can someone give an idea where new hires will be based. Or what equipment they will be trained into.
Thank you

4 month staffing outlook makes it seem like EWR, LGA, PIT, and ORD as the most likely. Expect Republic E170.
