Republic after the contract

Not at all. I'm was a direct hire captain at PSA. I came here to get my 1000 PIC. Once I get that I have no incentive to stay. The contract here is terrible, the management is terrible, and the AAG cooperate culture, to quote a recent article, is "toxic".
In addition to that, I don't like Dayton and the closet sized crew room, I'm tired of hitting my head in the CRJ and trying to stuff my bag into the -200 overhead bin.
My belief is that once I have my 1000 PIC I will (hopefully) get the call within 2 years and I'm willing to take the reduction in pay for the quality of life improvements during that time.

Agreed. Good plan. Get the boxes checked then go to a place where the QOL and pay will keep you happy while you wait for the call. It's only a matter of time and there is no sense in suffering while you wait.

Is 1000 PIC enough? Competitive mins for most majors for non mil civilian route is 5000 hrs PIC and up. 1000 PIC, is just the basement floor.

When will all 145s be parked, how many 170s will fly for Delta, and how is the AA and United 170/175 CPA going to look after BK. All those play into way too many unknowns to give an accurate upgrade time. Sorry, someone can chime in with either a made up number or the current upgrade time but neither will be accurate for a new hire. (tho to save you time looking the current upgrade is 4.5yrs I've been told)

Hello, I am just curious if you anyone has any idea about the upgrade time at Republic
I'm currently at PSA but I'll be done getting my PIC here in a few months and have no intention of commuting to crap hole dayton just for the privilege of working for dirtbag PSA a day longer than I have to. I'm thinking I would rather get a new type and an easier commute.

The results from our June bid had the most junior 170 captain as an April 2012 hire. July vacancy has 48 captain positions so we will see where it lands.

Thank you for the information gentlemen. I understand that with the bk and everything that it is difficult to get a firm answer to most questions at RAH right now. Hopefully when I get the time I need things will be sorted out there. I will have a lot more questions when the time comes.
Thank you again.
Thank you again.

5000 PIC and up is absolutely false. The average non mil civilian hired at Delta has about 8500 total hours. You really think 5000 or more of that is PIC? Not even close. The majority have around 1000 T-PIC or less and in the case of the civilian FOs we hire they typically have none.

I was actually kidding but in this environment and looking ahead to where the hiring is going, it probably will have no bearing at all.
