Holy cow, you guys and your rumors.
No, we are not losing all of our AA flying.
Yes, it seems a small amount of AA flying may be leaving (the email is not clear as to what is exactly happening there). Yes, we have 170/175s sitting idle costing money and not generating revenue that we are getting rid of. However, this is exactly what the company said we would do. Downsize the fleet to the right number of jets for the pilots we have, become stable, then grow from there.
Here is EXACTLY what the email said about it:
"On the codeshare front, we met with both United and American and remain engaged in negotiations to formalize our flying amendments with both of these partners. As discussed in prior updates, we are required to take a conservative approach to fleet management until we finalize agreements with each of our flying and aircraft partners. In that effort we are preparing to at reject up to 23 leased EJET aircraft prior to the April 25 (S1110) deadline and our market planning and operations teams have been working with codeshare partners, and specifically American, to mitigate the near-term effect of this change. It’s important to remember that the majority of these aircraft are currently idle and not producing any revenue for us"
Now, time for me to start a rumor of my own.
I predict that Republic will come to agreements with United and American (similar to Delta) and exit BK within 12 months with an all EJET fleet on 1 operating certificate still flying for the "big three".....retaining the best contract in the (regional) industry.

I know what it is being in BK. It's not a pretty thing, specially now that there are not enough pilots. It seems that Delta have the upper hand right now.
It won't be the as bad as some people say. But it won't be as good as you think. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
Stand strong it will be tough times. We can see AA already shuffling flying.

23 aircraft is a lot of aircraft. How do I know? Well I had the same relative seniority for 3 years at envoy.

If those 23 airframes were staffed and flying, it would be a huge deal. But they aren't. BB is using CH11 to get rid of old and unprofitable equipment, and apparently this includes the old 170's (ex-Mid Atlantic birds). I think there are about three that are in revenue service that may be removed, hence the block hour loss.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if BB is using the threat of removal to try and get AA to pay more in the renegotiated CPA. And before anyone chimes in and says that's BS, remember that most thought that Delta would never pay more for their feed. But here we are, one hearing away from that CPA being finalized. That hearing takes place on the 21st if anyone's interested.
