You deserve to be treated like a professional, and not some teenager backpacking through Europe. I stayed at some really ****ty hotels at the regionals, and it sucked! Bed bugs, hotel van being constantly late, hookers waking you up at 3am (possibly a good time). I believe Republic has mostly good hotels, but maybe the Hotel Guide will clean up the quality requirements for the flight crews.

Hotel guide? You mean the hotel quality handbook that isn't worth the paper it's written on? I'm still in shock the union agreed to that junk. The company now has union consent to put us anywhere they please.

I'll agree the HQH was underwhelming to say the least, but I doubt it will make things worse. We stay in some pretty good locations already, with zero bargained for language used to determine where we stay. Hopefully between the hotel language in the CBA and this HQH, we will be able to fix some of the outliers.

But still, pretty disappointed with 6 months of work from both parties involved.

Curious if anyone has any insight on commuting from DCA to EWR for a new hire until you could hold DCA? Figure the best bet would be to drive to IAD to commute to EWR.

Also anyone based out of DCA, what is QOL like there? I'm a native Virginian so I'd like to end up at DCA or IAD.

DCA-EWR isn't so bad (my commute). IAD-EWR is horrendous. Always seems like those loads are not good when I am looking to commute up. DCA as a base is in flux. It's gotten bad if you are a commuter, but okay if you live locally.

FYI, most junior FO in base is a Jan-2016 hire and most junior awarded DCA is Mar-2016 hire.

Any input on whether or not a newhire would be able to hold MCI? Or anything about MCI's future as a base?

2 junior guys were just awarded MCI on the latest bid. Hard to say, but you could probably get MCI within a couple/few months.

As for the future of the base, who knows. It's a maintenance base so take that for whatever it's worth.

Thanks, I had heard it was junior at least. I know there's a great deal of hype at moment for a couple other regionals but living in base would almost outweigh the shiny bonuses for me.
