It's in the contract, so it should be still applicable. Says they will provide it by the start of IOE and if you leave before 12 months you will have to pay for the cost of uniform and luggage.

Yes, they are. If you leave before 1 year you're expected to repay them for it ($700ish LW + uniform)

Just because it's in the contract doesn't mean the company will honor it. Your best bet is to get in touch with someone that's recently been hired and ask them directly. I personally haven't had contact with any recent hires since the new CBA was installed so I can't vouch for wether this part is being followed or not. Once you've worked here long enough, you'll quickly realize that the CBA is merely "guidelines".

While I agree it's best to get the info from a new hire, I was just pointing out it's pretty cut and dry in the contract. For what it is worth, I've been here a few years and haven't run into any contract shenanigans or fly it and grieve it situations.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't seen the contract yet, but with the BK I was curious if the luggage/uniform policy was the same. Sounds like it is.

It's still the same. Hasn't changed due to chap 11. Just show up in your socks, boxers and white T and the company takes care of the rest. Industry leading. They just don't buy the Chapstick.

For 1 night? who cares really. Maybe I was born one the wrong side of the silver fence, maybe I have traveled too much in my youth, camped, stayed in crappy hotels on backpacking safaris through underdeveloped countries, but really, for 1 night, as long as I have a decent bed, hot water for my early morning shower, being crime-free inside the hotel and as little noise as possible, what else do you need? I am not there to stay or like it.

On a 4 day trip that is 3 nights in a crappy hotel. Don't settle for less than home.
