Just accepted an early May class date, wondering how senior Indy is being the home of Republic. Trying to decide whether or not to move the family to Indy or commute as well as likelyhood of getting Indy out of IOE. Thanks for any input in advance

IND, when I was working on the sked committee, was super senior. I doubt that has changed - but then again some S5 flights have gone west of the Mississippi so change does happen!

As of a few weeks ago, new hires were getting ERW, LGA, PIT and DCA. Probably wont get IND directly out of OE, but give it a few months and you'll be able to hold it.

Also, commuting is it's own special hell. If you can help it, move to a base for better quality of life.

Can anybody give me an idea of how much flying a new hire could expect? Close to guarantee or as much as I'd want?

As a new hire, do you get to bid for your initial base while in training or is that strictly assigned by them and then you have to bid out once you have seniority?

Republic is still my #1 because of the PIT base as that is where I'm from and would want to base out of there if/once hired.

Hard to believe that people are interested in a company that's in the early stages of bankruptcy?

Especially when there tons of flights to PHL and MDT is a relatively short drive.

Most junior FO in IND is a 11/03/15 hire. Looking at the latest monthly bid award (effective date of July 1st), the most junior FO awarded IND is a 2/2/16 hire. So I would not call it senior for FOs.

We are short staffed. Plan to fly everyday that you are on reserve (RSV). We do not have guys sitting around on RSV. You will likely credit over guarantee, but because of the outstation basing model we have, a significant portion of your schedule will be deadheading on RSV.

New hires are offered all the vacancies not filled by current pilots during our monthly vacancy bidding process. Bases are assigned in seniority order to new hires. Your seniority within your class is determined by age.

As for PIT, PIT is SUPER junior for FOs. You should 100% expect PIT as a new hire.

What's the junior hire for MCI if you don't mind looking?

I have followed the BK since day one and because I use common sense and realize it's not the typical BK of the past, it doesn't scare me. There has not been a single thing that has happened so far that has not followed exactly what management said they wanted to get out of this BK. Everyone said Delta was gone yet here they are with the newer higher fligt rates and having provided a substantial loan and they are the smallest feed Republic provides.

I make that drive frequently when I go home as I currently work in Philly. It's 5 hours doing 80MPH the entire way across and let's not forget the $40 toll each way plus $25-30 worth of gas.

If I wanted to fly out of Philly I would not be moving back to Pit.
