It is 4 years as of now. They had been awarding upgrades throughout the wind down of the 145 and subsequently stopped when the last 145 flew in September. It's definitely going to get interesting in the next few months post S5 and YX merger and bankruptcy exit with a lot of base shuffling and shakeout with staffing needs. The good news is pilots are still leaving off the top of the list, we are getting some 170's back, and this United deal looks promising. I think it's realistic upgrades will be around or slightly below 3.5 years in the next year or so. After that is anyone's guess, but there is a small gap in the seniority list between 2013 and 2014 when we weren't an attractive place to be. If (that's a big if) the movement picks up even more, then it could potentially drop even lower, but there were a bunch of people hired post contract in 2015-2016

Still waiting.... 9/13 hire.... I agree with you though, it is going to drop dramatically next year (contingent on being able to attract FOs). I hope our management team doesn't create the same problem they were trying to fix in bankruptcy again.

From prime clerk:

"United in turn has agreed to amend the United Express Agreement to lease [number redacted] of the purchased E175s to Republic for deployment under the United Express Agreement, thereby allowing the Debtors to avoid obtaining capital to fund their own acquisition of the aircraft while still increasing their revenues under the United Express Agreement. The [number redacted] aircraft are expected to be delivered to Republic between April 2017 and September 2017."

While the exact numbers are still unknown, it sounds as though if the motion is approved we'll be getting some additional flying. Lets hope it's all 24.

The link on the previous page states United confirmed 24 orders. So that plus the returning 7 or 8 (I think) 170's should create decent movement.

Right, 24, but it's still technically unclear since the numbers filed are redacted if we'll operate all 24, or if United will split up the flying between regionals.

The quote I posted from prime clerk at the top of the page says United will "lease certain" the ordered airframes to Republic. I don't claim to be a lawyer or fully understand the lingo but it makes it sound like they are buying them specifically for us to operate. You are correct the number is redacted, but a few other sources have confirmed the number of 24. I can agree to disagree if you read it differently, sounds like there should be an official announcement soon anyways.

On another note, I saw United has delayed delivery of 737's due to this purchase. I think we can all agree the move is not good for the industry as a whole, even if we see short term gains at Republic.

It's a classic Kirby move, that guy needs to do us all a favor and get out of this industry.

I'm pretty sure you guys will get all the aircraft. You're one of the few non-WO regionals able to hire pilots.

i don't know - i was impressed with the interview process but after talking to my friends that work there and don't play the forum game its still a lot of IFs and MAYBEs.

It like winning an argument with your wife, you may win but dang if you going to get some sex. You can't just file bankruptcy to null your contract and think that the people you nulled the contract with aren't going to be ticked off

that and the management the drove them into the position where bankruptcy was the only way forward is still driving the bus ?

for whatever my two cents is worth - great equipment and pay can't make up for a burning dumpster fire of mis management
