What percentage of our current new hires do you think have significant parental, spousal, or "previous life/savings" financial support?

It's >50% from what I've seen.
Quote: Can you think of any circumstance where bringing AE painted 900's to DFW would do anything but infuriate AE pilots? Especially since they're flown by Mesa.
@Vagabond is this post consistent with your warnings?

Is this not the exact type of unwarranted, uncalled-for inflammatory behavior you were referring to a few posts back?

Just saying--this guy just won't let his vendetta against Mesa go, and it's making it hard for the rest of us discuss Mesa and Mesa hiring.

Wow. Talk about a tattletale. Is he wrong? Did that post slander you or any Mesa pilot in any way? A bit sensitive, aren't we? Hmm... I wonder, why?

Not that this post is incorrect, but it's hardly relevant to the conversation between people that want to know whats going on at MAG. AAG shifting flying/bases isn't up to us. We as pilots didn't vote for US/AA to merge, we didn't vote to repaint our planes, and we don't vote for bases. We get our line/reserve assignments the same as you lot. If you got flying from another carrier, I hardly think you'd be lining up to apologize. Don't blame us because the company you work for happened to be the one that got the short straw this time. If you want to be mad at someone, give Doug Parker or jerry glass a call.

Again, a bit sensitive here. I never said anything about being mad at Mesa, or any Mesa pilot, for that matter. I was merely pointing out that his/her post was equally as juvenile. Could he/she not have simply ignored the post, as everyone else seems to have done so far?

And, btw, in case you didn't notice, I never blamed you or any Mesa pilot for anything. I'm fully aware of the harm that Dougweiser and Jerry **ASS have, and would love to continue, to inflict upon OUR careers. If you can't see how ANY aircraft showing up at DFW with "American Eagle" painted on the side would upset an Envoy pilot, then I don't know what else to say to you.

You're fine, I was referring to the post by face biter. I agree with you that it's a slap in the face to L-AE guys; but people keep bringing stuff like that up as flame bait when new hires are excited about not having a commute. We don't disrespect you all in the same way that everyone else smears our name across this forum.

THREE separate Mesa threads have been closed in the past week due to inflammatory remarks and downright childlike behavior. These types make regional pilots as a whole look bad, and the mods have made it clear that those kinds of comments are off limits here. (To clarify, not your comment but the ones in the closed threads)
To me this whole issue is kind of like when your girlfriend starts flirting with another dude and you proceed to summarily kick his @$$. Completely ignoring the fact that she enticed him.

Obviously this is a crushing blow to AE guys, to see their flying farmed out to the lowest bidder. The easy target for their warranted anger, is the Mesa pilot. But that anger is misplaced.

It could be argued that the regular line pilot should know better and refuse to play. But how do you do that when you're several years into a list at a company? Bottom line, you fly what and where they tell you to.

AE anger should be directed at their leaders, their parent company, ALPA, and the industry as a whole. i.e. the girl friend. But that isn't the easy thing to do, and I understand that. It takes clear thought and logic to follow the blame trail to it's true and proper place, and emotion is nearly always in conflict with logic.

Agreed, so for those that do have the money to spend, how long is the training in Copenhagen? Did people volunteer or end up getting forced to go there? I assume hotel is paid for over there?

They asked for volunteers but I think only 8 out of the 25 got picked and it's based on seniority. Most of the senior people picked it.
