Sun Country pilots union would seek impasse in negotiations - TwinCities.com

It could be the beginning of the end!

Yeah the end of ownership keeping all the profits, almost time to have to share. Hang in there guys/gals! Better days ahead.

I'm guessing its gonna come down to the wire, I hope not but guessing this owner is willing to go minutes from a strike just to flex.

Gotta be to much money being made right now to do anything but reach a TA with the pilots.

How many Sun Country guys are leaving a month? Are you guys still getting new hires?

The attrition varies. Maybe 3 a month leaving. A couple more retiring in the next 6 months. So far they are hiring 6 a month for the rest of the year. YES they are having no problem getting people to come here. A 737 is some peoples dream after flying an RJ. The question is how long will new hires stay?? This place could be a underwing jet training mill. Reserve is not fun here. 10-11 days off. They fly you a lot now. If the pay doesn't get adjusted and hiring continues at places that pay twice as much as SCA there will be a constant revolving door here.

Thanks Beech. I'm an 8 year FO at Endeavor and didn't know if I should apply. I am local to Minneapolis, so that is one of the big things I like.

I am guessing once we do get a new contract msp won't be the only pilot base so keep that in mind if you decide to jump ship...good luck to all!

Do you think they will displace out of MSP to a new base "First Officers" or just hire for a new base at some point in the future?

A new contract would have to have some nice raises to get Minnesotans to leave MSP and be based in DFW or MIA for example, I'm guessing. I can't imagine people will stick around at $50-$60k and commute from MSP??

They will do what ever is best for the owners pockets. Plain and simple. If thats displacing or hiring. It would depend on how many airplanes they want to grow by. I've heard up to 40 total. The money at the Legacy airlines is to much to ignore now. I think everyone has resumes out to see what happens.
You would be surprised at how many people would stay.
This airline is like a traditional Part 121 with 4 day trips, Part 91 corporate with the day turns, and Part 135 with the 5-6 day trips. We are also doing a fair amount of ETOPS flying to Europe, The Middle East, and the Pacific. It has a variety of flying. Depending on seniority you can bid different every month.

I see they finally put up an FO position on their careers page... something I've never seen before. Attrition must be picking up.
