Schedules and bidding
Dudes and dudettes currently flying the line, thank you for giving us a glimpse into the company, type of flying, schedules, etc... It sounds like the new contract was a game changer.

I do have some additional questions.

1. Are FAs and maintenance personnel unionized?
2. Are they generally happy with their contracts?
3. How is the work relationship between the pilot, FA, and maintenance, and management sides of the house?
4. Would anyone be willing to post samples of their monthly flying schedule (with aircraft type and seniority status to add perspective)?
5. Bidding-would anyone be willing to provide samples of the type of choices you can bid on?

Appreciate the info!

You would be guessing incorrectly. I知 transitioning to the private sector after 20 years of mil service. I知 new to your flying world. In my current world, it is my job to know my aircraft, those who fly it along with me, those who maintain it, those who manage the money and assets so I can fly it, and my customers (ground forces). I was trying to correlate all the above I have done for 20 years to what will be my new management, aircrew members, maintainers, etc...

I知 trying to go into this new world with as much info as I can; nothing less, nothing more. If these questions seem or are inappropriate, by all means ignore or remove them. If they are taboo or go against an unwritten code, please let me know as well.

Bottom line, I don稚 want to distract from this thread.

I also came from the military world. Just a couple tips, unlike the military the maintainers don't work for you and you will barely see them. Also, you won't be supporting ground forces.

Those questions have mostly been answered to death as well.

I appreciate those of you who sent PMs to answer my questions.
Thank you!

Another question I have is regarding home basing vs traditional commuting. For those of you that have done both, what would you say is the average annual savings from not having to commute at Omni versus commuting at previous employers? Along the same lines, how would you qualitatively measure the personal gains from no stress, positive space flying at Omni? I can only imagine it's tough to put a tangible value on this, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Home basing is worth its weight in gold. No airport parking fees, no occasional hotel rooms. The best part about it is very little stress about getting to work. Even if you have a flight delay and miss a connection, Omni travel is very good at fixing it for you quickly. They need you in place for a flight and they'll take care of it.

It makes for peace of mind for sure.
