Just spent 7 days and nights waiting for different airplanes that where AOG. Not sure what's going on ,but we have had a lot of long time mechanics leave for greener pastures. This puts a great deal of pressure on all. Omni is not staffed for the mess this creates. So most crews are left out in the cold with no idea of what's next . Omni has been a lot better in the past with keeping the airplanes in the air ,and in very good condition. I don't think our customers will put up with this for very long. The market for pilots and mechanics has changed,Omni just doesn't know it

Can a first officer on the B767 at Omni give me some info on schedules, reserve etc..will I be gone 18 days straight most months? Do you usually go over the 60 hour guarantee? Thanks! Oh and are they even hiring onto 767 now? Im already typed so i figured this might help...

In 15 months I've been held out twice for 18 days. I would say the average is about 12. This is of course dependent on your bidding. The 7/7 schedules seem to get used less. I choose the bids with 18/12 because even though 18 is long (or the possibility of 18), having 12 off in a row feels like a vacation. And some of the bids are 12/12/6 or 11/12/7. There are varying schedules but they all have some combination of 18 on and 12 off.
