Given who those two folks are, it doesn't surprise me that that topic came up at some point during your interview. They do hire non-drinkers. While I was there, the management folks, up to and including the CEO, came out on the road several times a year with company card in hand to keep morale off the floor, stop rumors, gather intel and spread gleeful hunkie dorieness. During your several hour long interview did you not discuss compensation (or lack there of), work rules (or lack there of), retirement plan (or lack there of), benefits (or lack there of) plans on how the company plans to grow and obtain new business (or lack there of)? If not, when on your next interview you might want to ask those questions too.

First you have no right to dictate what a crew member does on their layovers.
I have flown with him several times as both a Captain an FO. I have spent many layovers with him all over the world. One of the most professional pilots I have ever flown with. Fleet Manager is his title but he is much more than that. He is a leader! I have watched him motivate crew members and defused confrontational situations to get the flight done in a safe and productive manner. He has done more to benefit the Omni pilot group than anyone else. I left Omni before he took over the 767 Fleet. I'm sure he would have been one of the best bosses I could have worked for.

I can care less what people think of me. Leaving Omni was the best thing that could happen. The worst day at FedEx is better than the best day at Omni. I was blessed/lucky to land my dream job.
Hope you truly are enjoying your retirement.
And
Next time you decide to become a keyboard jockey pick a screen name that doesn't give you away!

I will continue to defend him. Your beef is with other folks within the company. I highly doubt he said any of what you are saying. We talk and text quite often, several times a month. I also chat with a few other Omni employees on a regular basis. Just like I did with you the other night.

Geez Mark, you seem pretty bitter. Is that the reason you got kicked out of the training department? Guess working as a check airman and talking so much crap about the company to new hires and anyone else that had to listen to you didn't pay off for you.
Now after you have left you step up and start talking smack about the FM because you won't have to take the chance of running into him and seeing him face to face. Did I kinda guess that plan correctly?
