Quote: You should attempt to restrain your emotion. It has absolutely no value to you in a court of law. The issue that I presented is from the point of view of a new hire. A new hire certainly could present his case to a court regardless what you think. And to point out an old saw judges wear black robes not white robes. Your passionate opinion is just that. In the end it is a judge or jury or arbitrator who will make the determination as to what is relevant or not.
Wow. You still haven't read the TPA.

So once the SLI is complete, you will have new hires at the bottom of the list who are active but will also have folks senior to them that are furloughed (assuming that L-CAL hires later this year)? Just trying to understand how that dynamic will play out.

It almost seems like you would have to furlough all the new hires and then start fresh with recalls because none of the L-UAL pilots would have been offered a true recall.
Furloughed will not be able to displace a more junior pilot who is on property. They will have to wait for a training slot to become available.

When they do return, they will regain their position ahead of the junior pilot.

The company will hire into the CAL side until the point of the ISL. then hiring will stop until all furloughed have been offered recall, assuming that has not happened already. Hiring would resume after the recalls. All pilots hired now or on the future will be placed below all pilots including furloughed on the seniority list.

Quote: It's the CAL side of the house that will be attending and probably hiring later this year. Mins will more likely be the old CAL mins than the UAL mins. Don't know what those are.
Out of curiosity, what are the old CAL mins? What are the UAL mins?

I'm sure this legal discussion is a bit too esoteric for you but to boil it down there is a legal hole in this coveted TPA a mile wide. The biggest threat to you in this regard deals with time. The longer there is not a JCBA the more dire the consequences are to you. You should contact your rep and demand a JCBA agreement now. Good luck with that.

Those were the recommended minimums. Some were waived based on contacts/gender/race

Quote: Aren't those the minimums at any regional at this point or at least in the short future?
Yes but those are the minimums. When I was hired, no one was making it through the front door with less than 5000 hours.

There were a select few with less time, but not many. Without the lower minimums, the select few would not qualify.
