Wow! Very happy to get this confidence-inspiring news. First, this should mean more airlines will order both the CS100 and CS300. As for a potential CS500, who knows? Not sure Airbus wants to cannobalize its existing 150-seat market - both existing A320s and the newer A320 NEOs. I think the article mentioned the "complementary" nature of their product lines - that indicates boundaries in my mind but you never know. A CS500 would likely be much more comfortable and efficient than an A320 NEO with just its engines upgraded...

Regardless, this is great news for the CS100 and CS300 programs which will now be viewed more optimistically. I am sure more airlines will be interested.

Had 10 text messages waiting for me when I landed. It sounds like a good deal and it makes sense for both Airbus and Bombardier. Would love to see CSeries innovations make it into the A320/21 NEOs too.

we have the skilled people at tech ops to build them..

Guess they will do it down the road instead...and more jobs in the US.

Read that Times article: Airbus has stated they will build (and actually physically manufacture) exactly zero percent more here than they have to. They even import the parts and tooling from Europe. Hell: the wings and tail arrive by boat ALREADY PAINTED.

No exactly a “win” for US labor, but it will play well in the upcoming twitter storm.
