Quote: 28. 37-year career. That’ll be very senior.
Had 24-25 year old captains that were former interns on the the Thunder Guppy at UAL when I was an intern in 2000.....and then came the lost decade.

Still, knowing you’ll be able to a be a Captain on this is pretty cool. (Early specs mandate that it have a common type rating with the 737 requiring special software that will make it sound really loud inside.)

Do you still have to put the generators online? Will it have MCAS?

The following are excerpts from the April System Schedule Committee report:

April and May NH/FR classes continued at 2 classes per month and have been scheduled with
40 pilots per class, rather than the original plan of 30. Additionally, the company will most likely
have at least one or two classes a month beyond that timeframe until the Fall ramp up.
Additional classes will likely be announced approaching each bid period as the manpower
need and/or training availability is determined.

There are now 50 remaining extended furloughed pilots on the list with various 10-year
expiration dates thru November 10th 2019.

So, while there are no guarantees, looks like hiring will continue through the summer.

The rest of the report from the SSC dealt with the future plan for Fall 19 thru Spring 20 to prepare for the summer of 2020. At this point it sounds like the will be training as many as the Training Center can handle (and the Training Center is already big and growing), so good news on the training/growth front.

Obviously many variables that can effect the plan, but for now the sun continues to shine at historic intensity.

How many unfilled vacancies remain? Does this mean we are looking at another vacancy bid soon?
Allow me to channel Carnac the Magnificent: I see a lot of unfilled SFO fifi and guppy vacancies for newhires...
