Quote: A friend of mine was hired in Q1, went through training in 11 weeks with two weeks off between events, went straight to OE after 5 days off, and consolidated with time to spare. This is on the 900. It can definitely be done. They were NYC based.
And are they at a stand still now and barely flying on reserve?

MMmmmmK.

Here goes. Toooooday the 200 will get you training delays, but you will most likely fly more if you go to ATL. Tooooday.

But, it could all be different tooooooomorrow.

Follow?

You are trying to game something which can't be gamed. Trust me on this. Look at the big picture and don't be myopic. All this angst on equipment and base could be totally dashed simply because of the social security numbers of your classmates?

These issues are industry wide.

Pick a good company and fly the plane. Everything will come and you will get to a big airline as long as you don't violate that long list of don'ts.

They’re flying as much as they want to, almost. Definitely every week.

Quote: So, the answer to my initial question is 10 weeks on the 200 what if i dont want the 200? I want the 900. Yes i get what i get but what are the chances i’ll get the 900 in NYC out of training and if i do get the 900 how long is training on the 900. My concern is paying my bills not a 10 Week vacation meaning if i fly i get more money meaning i can pay my bills. Min guarantee is not enough. Anyone with an answer? Thanks
If you can't live off of min guarantee, you're doing it wrong. NEVER, I repeat NEVER base your budget off anything but guarantee. Stop being so irresponsible and reign in your lifestyle and spending habits. Anything above guarantee is a bonus that shouldn't be counted on.

This is pilot budgeting 101. If you aren't smart enough to follow it, you might be better off in government.

Eeeeekkkk so now that ^^^^ that is over with. Training delays, I'm interested in seeing how soon the new crj200 LCA guys get checking and how quick the 200 delay starts to subside. It is interesting that so many 900 spots were offered during 9/17 indoc, I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Also PD90 congrats on Repub I have a few guys from my last gig who were in the 9/5 indoc, youre going to have a blast!

Arrogance is living beyond your means. I don't care what industry you're in, if you reply on over time (open time for the 9E guys) to make ends meet, you are irresponsible with your money.

There's a certain level of maturity one earns from living through hard times. It sounds like you've never been laid off, furloughed, or downgraded. It sounds like you haven't ever experienced when open time dries up and all you can get is 75 hours a month. You've never experienced $20,000 per year pay for airline pilots. Quite frankly, I hope you never do have to go through any of that. I wouldn't wish that on any pilot. The reality is this is a volatile industry and while the economy is up right now, it will go down. If you don't like me being blunt about your financial irresponsibility, too bad. I'm trying to help you out by giving you some advice from someone who has lived and learned.

It doesn't matter what job you have or how much you make, living beyond your means is stupid. If you rely on making over guarantee in this business to make ends meet, you are living beyond your means. Infer what you want beyond that, I don't really care. I'm just giving you a little dose of reality. If you follow it, you'll thank me the next time the economy goes south and pilots are just another cost that must be controlled.

I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Judging by your writing skills, you'll be a great fit at Mesa when you flunk out at Republic.

Wait. Everyone hates Endeavor pilots? I thought they hated Delta pilots... hold on, actually everyone hates Gojet pilots. No, I meant Mesa pilots. And Skywest pilots. Well shoot, I don’t know who to hate now.

Maybe it’s all pointless hate and everyone needs to chill out
