This. Everyones so anxious to sit in a crashpad in New York or be number 30 for take off in a 200. Go to Florida, Paris or Hawaii while the loads are low. The next month or so is the perfect time of year to non rev to those hard to reach places. Kids are back in school and it’s between holidays. Come November forget about it.

Consolidation clock starts at the completion of LOE. I have a friend currently on week 7 with 3 weeks to go according to OE scheduling. That’s 70 days, leaving him 50 to consolidate. Not gonna happen. Now he’s going to have to go back for another LOE, a jeopardy event.
His ATP-CTP contract doesn’t start until after OE is complete.
New hire bonus is not given until after OE is complete.
Min pay is better than most regionals but not enough to take vacations for 10 weeks and pay the bills.
So yeah, these new guys on the deuce are eager to sit in NYC. Hell, most of them are getting ATL/DTW before they finish OE anyway. That’s kinda what they signed up for. Stop making it seem like they’ve hit the jackpot.

Current wait for OE is at least 8 weeks and increasing on the 200. The company has been doing nothing about it from what most can tell, so I don’t see how the wait is going to decrease magically.

Drug their feet yes but their doing something about it. Unfortunately none of these new hire check airman will be able to help in the short term cause the training process for them takes a while.

The backlog seems to increase by a week every month or so. Soon enough we’ll be close to 3 months of delay for the new hires out of LOE...

I really hope you aren’t in management if you’re brushing off this serious problem by saying “just go to the beach.”
