But hey it is what it is. That was your best drama queen act to date btw.
Well, it was supposed to be funny. You can see why my stand up comedy career never really took off.

I understand the frustration with the reassignment language. But a friend of mine had one a week or 2 ago, due to a big snow storm, and he ended up making a ton of credit. The language that you find so troubling, got this guy a ton of extra money. He did lose a day off, but he was compensated very well for it.

That’s not what I’m concerned about. I get that storms happen and planes break down. What I’m concerned about is the company deciding to reassign a pilot into a day off due to lack of staffing. We’re likely not there today, but in a year or 2 from now I expect they’re going to run leaner on staffing and I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to push the language about being reassigned within the footprint of the original pairing.

Why worry about things that MAY happens years down the road? Not a healthy way to live life.

Because it absolutely will happen, and if you disagree, you're entitled, but it only makes it obvious you've not been paying attention in this industry.

Lol, this is truly a hilarious response.

We sign a contract for 5 years but we shouldn’t be concerned about a potential huge negative that could occur (and has already for other companies with mgt teams that have all been proven to be much nicer to their employees)?

I understand the concerns and don't disagree. However, if they are overworking us a year or 2 from now due to lack of staffing, I guess I may end up being fatigued more often as well. I expect to work a certain amount of time, and if the amount of home time and rest is significantly reduced then, yes, I'll likely not be fit to fly. I imagine many would feel similar, thus I don't expect the company to significantly abuse this.

They cancelled our vacations out of spite and you don’t think they’ll abuse this?

When they say footprint of the original pairing, doesn't that mean exactly what it says? Reassigned to something different that finishes at or before the published end time of your original pairing?

We're short staffed AF at Xjet but my extensions and rolled days in the last few months were all for either weather or maintenance.

The language does say footprint, but then example 2 right after that language states...

“Example 2: A Pilot is scheduled to fly a 2-day trip, and on
Day 2 the Pilot was scheduled for 3 hours of Pay Credit and have a Sequence Release Time of 1600. The Pilot is Reassigned to fly a leg worth 4 hours with a Scheduled Release Time of 2000. The Pilot would receive 6 hours of Pay Credit for that leg (4 hours at 150%). If the Pilot actually returns at 0300 on his Day Off, then the Pilot would no longer receive 150% credit for the 4-hour leg but would receive 4 hours of Pay Credit for that leg plus an additional 5 hours of Pay in accordance with Paragraph R., below.”
