Quote: If you are in Wisconsin why not go Air Wisconsin? ORD and MKE are bases. You then wouldn't have to worry about going wherever, you could stay close to what you know. Pretty sure MKE is most junior there along with CAE.
Because I like Republic a lot more and I just said it would be ideal to stay here, but I'm not concerned about having to go where ever else. Not a big deal to me.

Quote: Oh okay, I know a lot of people that went to Endeavor and that's super accurate. So for someone who wants to do a lot of flying, it wouldn't be a good base to go with? Even on the FO side? I'm from Wisconsin so it would be ideal but I have no baggage so I can really go wherever.
It's fine on the FO side. No different than any other base, really. Just definitely disillusion yourself that you'll ever fly there as a captain!

I'm currently on a trip with a CA who is from Madison. He commutes to EWR since his upgrade.

5-0, off topic a little, but, did Air Wisconsin get an extension on the UA flying? Doesn't that expire within a year or two?

There's, I think, at least two flights per day each way on our own aircraft.

Not sure... thats a good question. I don't fly there, just know they have a couple bases up that way.

I'll probably end up doing about the same then. Appreciate the info, thanks!

APC has been great for answering questions (grains of salt included). I think I came up with one I haven’t seen: Are FA’s allowed to ride jump seat when commuting and would they have the same seniority as a pilot? If an earlier DOH FA commutes and the pilot is newly hired and there’s only one “seat” available... is the pilot sol?

Flight attendants cannot ride the flight deck jumpseat. They can “jumpseat” in the regular cabin if there’s room and they may ride the additional flight attendant jumpseat on Republic metal only (except United, something with the union). Not sure about regular seats in the cabin but for the extra FA seat they get priority over pilots.

Probably a good thing, a new FO shouldn’t be focused on anything other than learning then plane and FOM.
God man, give it a rest already

You must be a first class treat to fly a four-day with.

Arghhh.

To any new FO reading this. Get in the cockpit and do your job. Let the FA’s welcome passengers aboard, that’s their job. If I have to tell an FO to get in the cockpit one more time because I’m waiting on him to do a release brief or anything else I’m gonna lose it.
