Quote: don't let the complaints deter you. its a growing company that's not without it's pains. its a typical case of a job that is not for anyone close to 1500 hours

Are you coming in as a street captain or FO?
Fixed it for ya

Are these hiring periods decently regular? I seem to recall around this time last year they did the same deal with interviews in Daytona. My goal is to jump straight from university during the summer of 2018, should have about 1200 TT with a couple hundred turbine PIC. These guys seems to get back sooner and more reliably than Boutique or the like, planning on sending resume in December. Can anyone tell me if that timing should work?

I really need to check the forums more often! Far too much has happened since I last posted!

Anyways, i'm 5 weeks out of sims and haven't flown yet. Not complaining, because im being paid to sit at home. Not sure how anyone could see that as a bad thing. Got paid to sit in a hotel in Portsmouth for a week also on my first cycle.

How's everyone from the March class doing? Anyone actually start flying for IOE yet? I personally cant figure out any rhyme or reason as to how the FOC operates in regards to scheduling new hires for IOE, but it's all part of the process I guess!

Quote: Just accepted a class date in October so hopefully they will have everything figured out before then.
Was that the earliest class date they offered you or just the earliest you could accept? I'm hoping to get an interview soon and would like to start before that if possible but will do whatever gets thrown my way.

Lots of new hires + instructor pilots leaving. Not flying in 5 weeks isn't normal. It is nice to get paid to sit at home but your skills are going to atrophy in the meantime.

They only offered Oct 31 but said that I will have the option to move out if people back out before training starts. Of course that will be on a first-come first-served basis. If you haven't interviewed yet then I wouldn't count on starting training before November which means you probably won't be flying until the first of 2018.

They shouldn't let you sit in a hotel in PSM for a week. Normally the idea is to keep you close in case an IP becomes available, but there should have been a plan to pair you up within 3 days of you being there. But, like another poster said, IPs seem to be in high demand currently. If you're so inclined, opening up availability for OT could help you get on the road. Might as well make some extra cash while you're at it.

My checkride was April 7, still don't have my uniform so missed this last cycle which means another 10 days until my next cycle will start.

Worth a shot but I didn't have any luck doing that either.

What base did you choose? It looks like you'll be in a pretty similar boat to me. IF I fly this cycle coming up Wednesday, it'll still be 6 weeks since my checkride which is pretty crazy. My skills certainly are going to atrophy as another said, and in going to let my IP be fully aware of that when I finally get one.

I know of af least 2 others from my February class who haven't touched a plane yet either. And other who have finished IOE but are still on home standby. Lack of work due to low time I imagine? No green on green.
