I can tell you. You get a measurement card and you take that to Mens Warehouse - there is one not too far from the hotel. They will take your measurements and you can call Twin Hill and order your uniforms. You can do payroll deduct or just pay out of pocket and you get reimbursed in your paychecks. There is a twin hill order forum on their website - the Piedmont website has a link to Twin Hill.

I went to a local Academy sports and tried on fitted hats to find my head size. They go by 7 3/4 etc. good option if you don't know how big your noggin is.

If someone in your class has a LW bag you can check it out or go online and look at them. I have the stealth air it is very nice, well constructed - lots of Airline Pilots use it with great success. Would also recommend Aerocoast EFB Pro lunchbox goes good with the rollerbag.

Wear a suit and tie first day of indoc then just comfortable business casual and clean shave the rest of training. Bring your passport and SSN card for indoc.

Quote: This is slightly misleading. 20 days off per month is only attainable while using vacation. Politifact rates this post: Mostly True.
without giving away my secret identity (bruce wayne)... I get displaced of at least 1 trip a month.. there was a month when I got displaced off every trip and only flew 2 out and backs out of base.. I am senior and as the soe on the dash is going to dry up shortly... that being said... the 145 SOE train is going to roll for a long time..

I have only flown about 200 hours in the last 6 months... its been great... I have been very fortunate..

My QOL has made me not take the upgrade... Feb, I have 14 days off.. but I know one of the trips is in violation on 117... So i'll get a day or 2 off extra... I play dumb until I report for that trip..

I am unclear - if you pay out of pocket, they re-imburse you in paychecks, but if you don't they charge it to your payroll??? I know that is not what you meant.

What about a bag to carry the paper around? Or were you issued an iPad (good for manuals) and just a couple Jepp Binders to carry around?

I heard a rumor that Feb class onwards was getting iPads issued - so at least the company manuals would be EFB-ed Dunno about January...

There is no store at indoc. If it doesn't fit you must acquit, oops sorry couldn't resist. Any items can be returned with no questions asked. I had a couple minor fit issues and you bring your items to Men's Warehouse and the company pays for alterations. The training facility has a lot of pilots going through the doors, all the luggage is kept up front in a storage room. I'm sure you can check out the different types . I have this one and it works great. The ABS plastic hold up well and lighter too. I'm going on three years with no issues. I purchased the Strong bag Summit for the manuals . Soft but durable.

So, is PDT not completely efb approved yet? What's going on, e-manuals and paper jepps?

That's pretty nice, but definitely not the typical experience for most of us.

RE: the uniform. An anecdotal experience of mine; I ordered the slim fit uniform coat according to the size that Men's Wearhouse measured me as. When the jacket arrived and I tried it on it was way too small. I could barely bring the buttons together in front. Had to return it and order the next size larger. I don't know if that was an unusual experience or not or if it had to do with ordering the slim fit coat vs the regular fit (I swear I'm not a fatty!). If you happen to find a coat to try on before placing the order, definitely take that opportunity.

I just paid out of pocket for the uniform. You get reimbursed through the year in your paycheck. You can also have them payroll deduction if you don't want to pay it all upfront.

I keep a Jep binder with all the papercharts I need for the trip in the cockpit. You will still have to keep your jepps updated even when we get the EFB issued, just FYI.
