Quote: Thanks for sharing. How much is PDT's bonus, and how is it paid out? Is it for FOs only, or for CAs too?
I was told by a recruiter that the bonus is ~$16k total, with ~6k paid at the end of the one week indoc (first step of on-boarding, minimal scheduling delay) and the rest paid out after successful completion of the line check. They're also offering a $1k/mos bonus for folks who hire into the -8 with a 12 month seat lock. $20k FO retention bonus and $7.5k Capt retention bonus paid out I believe quarterly but someone else will have to confirm this.

We have a new retention bonus for those who choose the Dash 8. It's on top of the other bonus. So 16200 for new hires. Extra 5k for prior 121, and 1000 per month for both Captains and FOs.

So using $39 hourly, 75 min guarantee, would be $51,300 for a new hire, $56,300 with prior 121 for the first year.

And using $42 for second year, 75 min guarantee, that would be about $57,800 with the $20K FO retention bonus.

Are these numbers about right?

39x75x12=35,100
$40.17x75x12=$36,153

Best advice I can give you, take the guarantee, and realize that's what your paycheck is going to be. Adding this and adding that will only dig you in a financial hole.

Not sure what you are trying to say here? Where does the $40.17 come from?

It's what an FO makes per hour at Piedmont their second year till they upgrade. I think it moves up to $40.66 or something close after April, 1st contract raise.

Take that times the 75 hour guarantee, and $36,153 is your second year pay. I guess $46,153 with the retention bonus. Not sure where the $57k is from...

According to this: Piedmont Airlines | AirlinePilotCentral.com

It's over $41 an hour. Not sure which is more accurate, I know APC doesn't always get updated correctly.

But as to my totals above, with bonuses, were those numbers pretty accurate?

Anyone care to speculate on available open time and premium pay over spring/summer months this year?
