You keep saying that and you are still here...are you waiting for the doors to close or are you not able to find anything else?

If we start serving Natty Ice or Keystone then I'll be really scared......

the people I talked to were exceedingly vague, I asked for clarification but they said that that's all they've heard. you know how it goes.

I'm not willing to make $19,000 a year at a regional again and it's kind of hard to go to a real airline without an ATP. I'm just saying that's it all been downhill since I've been hired and I've been listening to people say there's a "big announcement" coming for almost 5 years now. Nothing is going to happen at PDT. We are very insignificant and very replaceable in the US Airways system. How hard do you think it would be for them to get Commutair or Colon to do our flying? I think their guys make a little less than these 20 plus year dinosaurs on our Dash 8's.

Why don't you go and get an ATP?

I understand but after 5 years you should have enough savings to offset first year airline pay until you can return to a more normal pay. That is how a lot of these 30-40 year old guys get stuck at regionals...they have families but didn't plan enough ahead to be able to take such a dramatic pay cut for first year major pay or even having to start over at a regional again. Sh&t happens and you have to be ready. Personally I think the 30+ year guys are the real problem.

I'm in the pool and received an email today saying the furloughs will likely all be recalled by early 2011 and that hiring may resume. I'm curious, who all else is in the pool and still may go? How much flying are those on reserve getting a month? With oil prices increasing each day, I wonder if these conditions will stay true.

Who did you get an email from? Bob Trout? Reserve flying varies by base...some guys get 30-50 hours and some break guarentee. I have hit 100 hours a month twice this year. Never know how good or bad the month is going to be.

Awesome....can you be my financial planner? Most of my money goes to Sallie Mae and the rest is spent on my drinking habit. I'm not putting in anymore money into this crap profession and I'm certainly not gonna go jerk gear for some clown that has less experience than me at another regional!

Don't think the airlines needs any more people with that kind of attitude anyway.
