Quote: Any word on how the latest class did on that pesky systems written?

Side note, do you only get one attempt at it?
The systems test isnt bad at all. In fact, PDT's ground training is pretty good. There are practice exams out there and you do get a second chance.

It's the sim portion you have to worry about. Every day is different and the schedule is subject to change which makes it difficult for these newbies to learn. You feel as though you are being pushed through a system. The systems exam is the least of worries in training.

Yeah, even with the new format it's not hard...

So going back, how did these 5 guys in the last class FAIL out of class due to it? Even if you get 2nd chances?

Now with AQP they will give you extra sim here and there if needed correct? Or do they have a 3 bust/fail rule?

The class that had 5 bust on the systems test recieved a brand new test, one that a gouge was not available for and I was told the instructor that week would not give a review like most other instructors do. I think the fact it took 4 hrs just for the instructors to grade should say something.

I heard that 2 of the new hires were sent away because one fell asleep and another was caught cheating

Is it true that a few of the captain upgrades have failed out because of the indoc test?

The ground portion of training is self explanatory. There shouldnt be any secrets come exam time. Its all up to the student whether how hard you study and prepare. Now the sim, thats up to the instructor and student. Its the first time these people are thrown into it and its the responsibilty of the company and student. Unfortunatley piedmont takes the cheaper route and pushes you through expecting you to have 2000 hours of dash 8 experience before you step in it. Many students work hard through ground training at piedmont and are sent home during the last 3 lessons of sim. Its all up to the training director JK and making bottom line $$$.

Why would an upgrade be taking the Indoc test?

4 hours to grade the test? Must of had to call the Cmdr in SBY and give him the news....

I didn't think upgrades took the indoc test...they arrive at training after the indoc week is over and begin with the limitations test. Unless you're referring to the take-home test you bring to upgrade training, but nobody would fail that, it's an open book take home test. I think you've been misinformed.
