From APC. Compass airlines.

Preferred minimums:
4-year degree
FMS & EFIS experience
Part 121 experience
2,500TT, 500 ME, ATP

So someone with a 4 year degree, FMS & EFIS experience, Part 121 experience, 2,500 TT, 500 ME and already has their ATP should quit their job, bend over and take 18 hrs credit at the whopping rate of $25 an hour? ($450 gross for the month)

A question for the ALPA flag wavers. Does the union charge 1.95% on the $450 gross for their services, for finding new hires such a fantastic deal?
Quote: Again we see someone get offended when anyone dares to say anything bad about their beloved regional.

Other airlines pay their employees more than 18 hrs a month and / or provide accommodation during training.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't see him being offended. I believe you got offended when he asked a question. So does your beloved regional allow you to work for another airline while in training?

No one at compass will tell you we get paid enough during the 30 days of home study. The contract that the NW negotiating group put together outlines how pay is handled during training. As was stated earlier the contract was put in place before any compass pilot was ever hired.

No, you are on probation for the first year. Alpa dues do not start until year 2.

No one is forcing your hand to come work at compass. Don't apply if you don't agree with what is in place.

Yes. I'm offended that an airline with representation has the audacity to offer such pathetic / almost impossible rate of compensation for perspective new hires.

I can't imagine the stress a new hire has to take on during indoc & sim worrying about how he / she is going to pay rent or mortgage on top of student loans and pilot training debt while putting a hotel room on the already maxed out credit card.

Good thing the union's got your back. Just hope they don't ask for concessions.

Oh wait.

Heh, Don't you work at 9E? Plenty of people have/are making it work. Move along now before you get more worked up with simple questions. Rawrrrr

First off there has been no concessions made/negotiated at compass.

If you are planning to come to compass you know what is ahead. I have no pity for any pilot that has maxed out credit cards, student loans that he/she can not afford, a house payment that exceeds what they make in a month. If you plan your month ahead you should not have any issues with stress during that month.

Ahhh yes, I some how made it work. Except...

I don't have any maxed out credit cards because I believe in living within my means.

I only have $2k in student loans because I worked my butt off to pay for all my training and college and only flew used & abused 172s for my ratings.

Oh and my nice mortgage for a $69k short sale 15 mins from a CPZ base that leaves me with a whopping $520/mo payment. Yeah I guess I'm struggling real hard.

Personal financial management 101, it will do you wonders. But then again I'm sure you want it all and you want it now!!!

Unless someone had no obligations(wife, kids, etc.), they'd pretty much have to be living with mom & dad for $450 gross for the month not to be an issue!

No I don't work at Pinchanickel and I have no intention of applying at Compass. I'm not worked up either. I just feel bad for the poor (literally poor) folks that have to stuggle along with a company that won't provide any financial support to their new employees.
