Wish I could say he is, but hes not. And I will back his statement 100%. Poor Fos.

I had a CA that asked to be called boss.

Quote: If you're traveling standby, and get a seat, you probably outta be a little more discreet and either run you bag downstairs or don't harass the paying pax. Sounds like the tool was you.
OK more background to the story...

1) I had purchased a ticket, but due to unforeseen circumstances, missed my original flight. Delta was gracious enough to put me and my buddy on standby for the next flight. It was a vacation-related trip; not standby for commuting or such. I was just a normal pax.

2) I made sure to courteously move the man's laptop out of the way before stowing my bag. If you had heard the patronizing tone in his voice and been in my shoes, it would have been difficult not to have felt the same indignation.

...but yeah, I can see how my story can be read as being a d*ck when traveling standby. I'm sure I'm the only one on here who has "tool" on his record

Quote: I saw that as a LCA. They get it out of their system after about two years in the left seat.
If you knew this guy, you'd know 10yrs in the left seat wouldn't matter.... The kid has no people skills or life experience. Who can respect someone that hasn't had someone wiggle on their face at least once.... How do I know no ones wiggled on his? Well, if you knew this kid, you would understand

My take
1. Does not matter if you paid or non-revved. To me overhead bin space is mine, especially in 1st class. I would have had the FA find another space for your economy bag (ok - that makes me somewhat of a tool, but a 1st class tool). People bring too much crap onboard to avoid the check bag fees, but that's another rant.

2. You left that tid-bit out about moving his laptop. Should have said "yes sir, I moved it, I hope it does not cause any problems", and then graciously returned to your seat.

Happy Flying!

The friggin 50 year old loser, 135 pilot who got his ass fired only being on the job for 1.5 months for being a complete incompetent boob who padded his resume and had severe issues, and then decided to call the FAA hotline and tell them how horrible the department was after having a 100% blemish free record and confidence from the feds...

Agreed - if it's above my seat, it's my bin space. But, if someone makes a fuss about you using EMPTY bin space above their seat that they clearly have no need for, then that's a problem. To me it makes more sense to put my bag there than to delay the flight while they have to check it and toss it down below, which would have been the only other option because literally every other bin was full with belongings and stacks of money and "business cards" and all the other things people leave Vegas with

Quote: Flew with a Captain at my prior Regional airline, whom married a flight attendant, and wore his Captain uniform to the wedding. (Similar to someone wearing their "Military Dress uniform" instead of a tux.)

En route he used to brag about being able to teach someone Morse code in less than 20 minutes, and giving the reason why spiders' legs curled their bodies when they died. (Answer - Spider has an eight ventricle heart, one for each leg, and when they died, their legs each curled around its body.)

After two days I am trying to figure this one out there GJ. While I would agree that wearing your airline uniform to your wedding is odd I personally wore my Marine dress blues to a couple of weddings (including my own) and each time I somehow got "lucky."

Most of the Marines I know wanted to get their money's worth out of the uniforms we paid for (including Marine whites I had, that are no longer part of the uniform) and wore them when they could. I guess I am a tool for wearing them but I will tell you this. EVERY time I wore them to a wedding or another function I got "lucky.". Every time I didn't wear them to a wedding (including when I was the best man) I wasn't lucky. I wore them one time and met a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and well ...........

So I guess I am a "tool."

The (tool) Oscar

BTW, yes there are some tools out there. Be careful, they can be dangerous.

Wearing your Class A's (or substitute whatever you call them in your particular branch) to a (your) wedding is fine. In fact, earns cool points.
Wearing your airline pilot uniform to your wedding earns nothing at all except maybe D-bag points.

So what you're saying is that you need the uniform to get laid... Weird, I haven't worn my uniform to any weddings (including 3 military weddings), and managed to lucky at all of them. Guess some people just need a crutch.

Note: You still got laid, so good on ya!

This story is only cool, if you nailed her...

It may be OK...but I wouldn't say it earns you "cool" points. I personally, wouldn't wear mine but I won't rip on anyone for it.

Agreed. When I married my wife I was the senior aide to the president of the United States. I wore my USAF uniform proudly and we had our groomsmen, all USAF Academy grads, form a gauntlet with their sabers to slap her on her butt on the way out. Tradition and kinda fun.

I can't imagine wearing my van admiral get up to my wedding. More importantly, my wife would've killed me.
