Quote: In another thread you state it’s impossible to drop a summer trip?
I never said impossible. I said I had figured out the nuances and could rarely do it. My drop was back on June 20th. My seniority worked for 2, count them 2 PCS runs before coverage was too low. I probably got the last drop, anyone junior to me (sorry) try again SF says it's easy. I got lucky, had I been 1 run later or any time after...

What about IVD and APD you say is useless also?

Most definitely not useless, they have their specific onetime usefulness. My APD is gone by spring break. One day drops a 6 day trip which becomes my unpaid ski trip. If I work it right, I get 10-12 days in a row off, good thing I bank all year for that. And no GS that month because 30ish hours comes out of my bank.

App review and interview prep
Hey everyone,

I apologize knowing this has most likely been posted many times, but what company’s would you recommend for the most success with the application review and interview prep? Thank you in advance.

All the major companies out there will do a fine job. People have been hired who used any one of them, and people have been successful without them as well. They all know how the process works and will set you up for success. Honestly the downside of those services is that you may rely too much on a formula or memorize responses so that in the interview you come off as canned and stilted. Use the services but make sure you are genuine and yourself in the interview.

Why not since you can’t hold a summer vacation put a winter vacation over your ski trip. Or just bid it off. You are the guy if I recall who bragged he had 45 straight days off last winter and was averaging something like 7 days a month working.

GPA and checkride failures
Would a sub 3.0 gpa and 2 checkride failures hurt anyone’s chances in the interview?

Certainly doesn’t help.... what has the individual done since then..... LCA? Organizer for Havitat for humanity? Joined and supported OBAP or WIA? If nothing else go to one of the rj units that guarantees an interview.

Were they FAA failures? Form 8 failures? Or just UPT checkride failures? There’s a big difference between those.
