Quote: ....or the PBS guy's program were about to use comapny-wide?
FWIW, that guy was a junior pilot that created most of his program while furloughed (post-9/11) and subsequently resigned from UAL when recalled in 2007.

He was never a management pilot, or in charge of PBS, or in an ALPA leadership position, or an "insider" of any sort. Big difference, IMHO.

Quote: They are insiders that took their knowledge and skills and started a biz. Just like Kit Darby who works for fedex and does recruitment or EZ Per Diem and yada yada....
Before you use that specific example, I think you might want to fact check the resume of Kit Darby. There might be a lesson for folks lest they fly too close to the sun and also become "retired."

Not saying that there is not a time and place for outside consulting...but it can be a fine line to walk unless one's ducks are in a row, IMHO.

I knew about the furloughed PBS guy and his story and misspoke about Kit being fedex and I don't care why he retired. Still my point is this is silly. Calling someone cheesedick because they have a skill that could actually help people get hired and no longer fill the role. That also why I mentioned the new HOTS app being sold by a current UAL guy and we have sim PIs doing interview prep work as well. Guess they are cheese too? Company doesn't have a problem with it. Many people capitalize on a skill or expertise they gain during a career to start a company. Many have no compete clauses but CV had nothing like this and is being smart impo.

As long as the company doesn't have a problem with it...all is well.
