Has anybody had any experience with checkedandset.com? Apparently they provide resume/application reviews as well as job fair prep done by the former hiring manager at UA.

Of course Mila you are going to get everyone's thoughts based on who they used.

Never heard if checked and set. I am sure they are very good.

I used emerald coast. I didn't have much time and they have a webinar prep course. 2 days. One day is group work with 7 or 8 applicants the next day was one on one hr prep. I cannot speak on experiences with any other company but I will say this NEVER in my life at the end of an interview has the HR person given me a "thumbs up" as I walked out of the door, but she did at my United Interview. I think any prep is good but Emerald was worth every penny!

Good luck

Congrats on the successful interview! I have many great things about EC. I did a little research and checked and set is brand new and started by Charlie Venema... Just curious if anybody has done anything with them.

CV was in charge of hiring at UA until recently. If he set up an interview prep course, I'd say it's good as gold. Only problem is the link you posted doesn't lead to any site, nor does a google search for checked and set interview prep.

Hey guys and gals, I'm just trying to set realistic goals for myself in the near future.
What do you think my chances are with this stats.
Age:26-27
Flight time: 4200TT, 1000 TPIC
No degree though working on it.
Will start going to every single job fair in the country.

Well, while we are at it... Thoughts on someone who is at a stagnant regional with no upgrade in sight: 4000 TT, 3.9 GPA in undergrad and masters, volunteer work, one job fair, meet and greet, several internal recs, no checkride failures and clean background. NO TPIC TIME. Would going to a LCC and getting typed in a larger AC give me a chance? I should say, with all of the above plus experience in an airbus or something, but still no TPIC time (since going to a LCC would put upgrade at least a handful of years away) - will I ever get looked at?

Thanks for the opinions and insight.

You will get looked at.....probably many times (by at least the computer) before you get called. For most folks the only way they will not get looked at or even called is if they give up. That does not mean they won't have a long path with increasing qualifications. I'm retired from a major and my son is in the Dec 2nd class.....both of us got hired 7 years after submitting our first application to the companies where we ended up.
