I received the phone call to verify my information on Tues and then received the email with the link to take the Hogan test the next day. You have one week to take the test...I plan to take it on Monday...my one day off.

Has anyone heard about the Chief Pilot "pre screen" process? I got a call to re-send in my info, but nothing since. Don't want to nag them, but I'm thinking of pinging the guy who called me. If anyone has done this process, please advise.

Thanks!

I'm actually quite curious about this. I quit keeping paper logbooks because from what I understood most airlines were very happy with a pilot showing up for an interview with a printed/bound copy of electronic logs. I think it's a nicer presentation as well. Is this not acceptable? I'm literally years behind on paper logbooks and I don't really desire to keep them either. I know lots of folks that have interviewed and been hired with this setup at various airlines but not UAL specifically. Thoughts?

I showed up to the interview with old paper logbooks with the final entry back in 2008. Everything else was electronic since then. I printed out the logbook, put it in a nice binder and turned it in. It was a non issue.

Speaking of electronic logbooks...

Any gouge on NOT having any electronic logbooks?
100% of mine is paper military logbooks. Should I be spending my free time turning paper into electronic entries?
Please say no...

I would say no as I'm sure your logbooks look neat and organized. For folks with logbooks that look like a kindergarten art project or have poorly thought out commentary written in them then yes convert to electronic but bring the originals.

I had all paper logbooks. They are very neat and any errors I made were marked out with a simple black line instead of white out. I have everything backed up on Excel on my laptop, but that's only incase anything ever happens to the paper logbooks. I just like the old school way of writing it in. I'm sure as long as you can show the transition from one to the other, or have it all in one form its not a problem. I still got the job, so the old school way wasn't an issue.

Paper vs. electronic. Either is fine. Mine have always been paper, and always will be. I log leg-by-leg, so when I showed up I had 7 logbooks, and it wound up leading to a nice conversation on then-vs-now, and the merits to each. I could tell that the pilot on the panel was impressed. Did it factor into me getting the job? Dunno. Doesn't matter.

The airlines don't care as long as what you present is believable, and if it's handwritten, that it's neat and readable.

Yeah they don't give a damn....my paper logbooks are the most jacked up on the face of the earth, but I also have a leg by leg print out of my electronic log book. they barely looked at either.
