Let me Google that for you:

That's a good start. Try the "search" function (7th from the left on the blue bar above) here or the good ol' Googles. That's what all the young people are doing these days.

I don't mean for this to be inflammatory in any way at all, just an honest question. Would an LOR from a United Express pilot on my United Airlines app help my chances, or should I remove it?

If he/she has flown with you I would say keep it for sure.

I do not think a letter of rec from a united express pilot would ever hurt you - if that's what you mean. But definitely having a LOR from a united pilot, especially one you've flown with, would benefit you the greatest.

As well, best to have quite a few LORs... from a variety of pilots!

I have one from a United First Officer, and one from a United Express Captain, both of whom I have flown with.

Default any one been in this situation?

I've had my app in with several carries for quite some time. Since I'm in need of a job I recently accepted a position that was not my first choice and I'm currently in training. I just received a call from United saying I've been chosen to move forward in the hiring process and a follow up email with the link to take the hogan test.

Hmmmmmm.....United has always been my first choice. Any one have any idea about how much flexibility I have if I pass the Hogan and get a call to interview? I can't really afford to burn my bridges with the carrier I'm training with....but because of that I can't get free to interview for a while?

Suggestions? Any one have this happen.....

Ha. Did carrier B ask what you would do if United called in your interview?!?
If it were me, I'd do whatever I had to if that call came.

Congratulations!

If you haven't taken the Hogan yet, it will probably be about a month or so before your interview. Will you still be in training then?

Feel it out when they call to schedule the interview. Ask them if they have availability around the time you will be done with training. I would be surprised if they're not willing to push it back a few weeks. If not, take what they can schedule you for. You may just have to come down with the stomach flu for a couple days of ground school. I know it's an uncomfortable position to be in, but you owe it to yourself to go for "Plan A" if you get the shot.

By the way, when did you get the initial call? I haven't heard of any going out in the past little while.

That was me 16 years ago. I scheduled the first interview available AFTER I finished my training.

Airline A never knew about airline U, until I put in my resignation. And I didn't miss any work with the first airline, either.
