Many thanks.
I took the time to get both a sim prep and an interview prep. It took a few years to get the phone call in the first place, and I wanted to know if I wasn't successful, that I gave it my best shot. I do know of a few instances where some fellow applicants thought their sim performances disqualified them. If you can minimize the risk of an unsatisfactory interview for what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a potentially fruitful career, why not?

As for the interview prep, I didn't know what I didn't know about interviewing. Get it done early.

I interviewed little over a year ago and here is my advice. One search and search again for gouge but don't get cheap:

I used Emerald coast ($395) for interview prep. They will pick the five words from your perfect story and tell you why the message you are trying convey is not coming across that way and polish it up.

I personally didn't use sim prep (didn't have enough time), but when I was chasing the loc and forgot to trim on the go around I SURE WISH I HAD. Now I still got hired but what felt like a perfect interview suddenly went south and quick for about 10seconds. Then I had to regroup and run the sbi.

Good luck

A question to the guys getting calls:

Are the military guys retired, or reserve/guard?

I'm wondering if maybe they are trying to hire retired guys over those that still have a commitment with the reserves.
I'm a reservist with a CP LOR...hearing crickets.

I'm with ya, it's very hard to wait all the while wondering "is there something I'm missing?" I'm retired, M&G CP rec, ATP and current....crickets as well. My sponsor to the M&G has reminded repeatedly to just be patient.

Patience! I know it's hard. They hire both. I know of a retiree that was recently hired. I'm ANG and was hired.

Bit of advise for those that get the call. FIRST thing, even before telling your wife/husband, call FTI and reserve your sim!! They get booked quickly! There are only a few sim periods available. They are also limited by instructor availability! This will be even more of a factor when the flood gates open and numerous calls go out! You don't want to miss out on this very valuable prep!

Anyone hear of any initial calls going out this week? Wondering if the Thursday/Friday calls will continue to be the trend or if it will be more stop & go.

Totally agree! I called FTI within a day of getting my interview scheduled, and literally got the last slot they had available prior to my interview. Get it done ASAP. I can't imagine having gone into the sim with any confidence at all had I not done it.

In addition, I would say interview prep is a very smart idea, and I doubt I'd have been hired without it. Cage Consulting in DEN is awesome, and they'll work with your sched and get you ready specifically for UAL. Reading interview prep books and gouges doesn't cut it.

Take heart! BK recently stated their target hiring is 1300 pilots over the next 21 months.

I'll believe it when I see it. These 9 rounds of displacements will see a massive training requirement.
