I received the Call telling me I had been chosen to continue the hiring process on Tues. and that I would be receiving an email with a link to the Test soon. The email came the next day giving me one week to complete it.

I have 7 more weeks of daily ground school....

IF...I pass the hogan and get called for an interview...has anyone ever asked for a delay? I can't afford to leave training....

I did update my airline apps when I was hired recently and changed my available date to account for my training...however I think the update was too late..my app had already been pulled out for consideration.

Take the Hogan and see if you pass, first. If for some reason it doesn't work out, then there is no reason to stress. If you are successful, I could almost guarantee that HR would be willing to work with you on scheduling an interview at the earliest date you can accommodate - it really isn't too much to worry about. The only downside is that you could lose seniority at UA by delaying your interview to complete training at a company where you really have no intention of staying. My two cents.

Last year, they offered me 4-5 dates, took one of the later ones (a week later) to get prep done. Well worth it BTW. They seemed completely flexible. Look, if you get the call, aaaaaand pass the Hogan, they have vetted you and clearly want you and are willing to wait for you. Period!

In case you're running short of pennies, here's two more: I pushed my interview from the first week of June to the second, due to military obligations. As a result of being a week two guy, my Indoc is now HOPEfully only two weeks later than the week 1 folks. Interview Date=Indoc Date=Seniority=Awesomeness=Total # of Bikini Clad Women (or dudes) Waiting In Your Hotel Room.

Oh, and the military obligation I mentioned? Canceled. SOOOOO not worth it.

Get in ASAP. As soon as your dream girl smiles at you, tell the ugly chick with whom you're dancing about your awesome cousin who is probably her soulmate. Then insult her mother indirectly, but don't indicate remorse.

Unless the dream girl is her mom. You'll have to deal with that. You're gonna see each other at Christmas…

Thanks for all the advice .....again IF I pass the Hogan I'm unable to interview for at least another 7 weeks......so I need to push it a lot more than a week or two. That is why I posted, to see if anyone had had to put off interview that long.

While United is where I WANT to be.....we all know that an invite to an interview is by no means a sure job offer.

I'm 53 and can't afford to loose the job I'm currently training for because if the offer at United doesn't come.....this place is the next best thing. ( not another legacy )

Again.....thanks.......I'll take the test and see if I even have a choice to make.

I delayed an interview for three months because I was flying overseas. United said it was no problem. Told me to call when I got back which I did resulting in an interview two weeks later.
