Half of my new hire class (myself included) were military retirees. Tons of us getting hired. Got a bro with an interview this month.
You'll get here too. Wish I could say when. If not, it won't be because of being military retired.

I served a tour in a combat zone before you were born. I am ex-military. If you want to stay in the reserves, great, but pull your reserve duty on your time NOT on mine. Stop sharpshooting the system,taking advantage of a federal law that gives you time off for reserve duty anytime you want it - weekends, holidays and so on. I've been here almost 29 years and I have seen what you guys do to your sked.
Now, I'll wait for all the protests saying "I've never sharp-shooted the system; I only go to reserves on my days off" What a joke!

Talk to those guys and see what current AFRC/ANG pilots are doing. P.S. In case you forgot, we are conducting combat operations still! And have been for over 13 years!

Interview Calls & Hiring Predictions
Yes sir, successful CP M&G SFO late last December (2013). At that time, they said to be prepared for an interview call w/in a couple of months after the holidays...and then hiring came to a screeching halt coupled with a change in leadership at UAL HR, as I understand it from the outside lookin' in. Hypothesis: the M&G system may not yield an interview opportunity like it used to under the former HR?

You're not alone, I had a successful CP M&G in March of this year and haven't been called. I have 5 other internal recommendations and two job fairs. A similarly qualified guy I know who did his M&G the same day is in A320 school right now so I apparently don't have the right score.

I haven't actually interviewed [yet!], but I strongly suggest you inform Tiger Lily, Wendy, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Boys that they may be getting calls regarding your behavior...you didn't put Hook on your of personal refs did you??
