Interview Calls & Hiring Predictions

I'm in a similar boat, wondering if it's worth leaving a good QOL, schedule, base, etc (no TPIC) for national carrier - in terms of whether or not that will help get on at UAL.

I don't think anything "happened" to him. There were two legacies, and once there was common hiring to a single list, a different guy got the job. I don't know who the new guy is, but I'm guessing since DENTK runs new hire that it might be a LUAL management guy.

The position of Sr. Manager of Pilot Hiring was created post merger and pre SLI as neither airline had an active hiring department, and in fact both had pilots on furlough at the time of the merger. I was asked to accept this position in an 'acting' capacity in December of 2011.
In January of 2014 I was advised that the position would be filled permanently, but would no longer be a flight qualified position. In April 2014 Bill Kennedy, who had been the Manager of Pilot Hiring Programs and my right hand man, was named the new Sr. Manager.
Bill has over 30 years with United, including time in pilot hiring in previous years and came from the DEN base where he too had been on loan in an 'acting' capacity.
I returned to my borrowed position as a 756 Instructor and am out moving metal again.
All is well,
cv

Just to update the thread on timeline:
Airlineapps submitted 3 years ago.
Emailed to take the Hogan test last Thursday. Took it on Friday. Called for interview on Weds in January.
14k TT, 11k 121, 9k TPIC. B738 500 PIC.
1 recommendation on file (scrambling for more!) 1 job fair 3 years ago, no WIA or other conferences, no meet and greets (not for lack of interest, just overseas)
