Latest update for hiring...
Based on our most recent forecast of pilot needs, we will need to hire 391 pilots in the January-May, 2015 time frame. To that end, we are conducting interviews five days per week. We have been running two Basic Indoc classes per month for the last several months, and will close out 2014 with classes on December 2 and December 9. In January, we will begin having a B.I. class every week through the end of May 2015.
At the present time, new hires are going to EWR on the B737 and A320, but January will see some going to the 76T and 756 in other bases.
As always, plans are subject to change and we'll update this site with any significant modifications.

Ok, probably a few Qs and As out there, but as time progresses the answer may change. How are the western US bases looking for junior pilots? Meaning how quickly could a new hire get these bases all things being as they are now and with indicated hiring? Thanks all.

Nobody can tell you how quickly for anything other than EWR.

SFO 73 went fairly junior last vacancy...maybe 500'ish numbers from the bottom off the top of my head. 320 FO slightly more junior but about the same. Either of those or the 76T would be within sight relatively quickly if things stay static, which is never the case. LAX is slightly more senior. DEN, forget about it. Years.

I would say this to new hires...nobody can tell you how quickly you can get anything other than EWR. We can tell you how junior or senior bases and seats are but that's about it. I've only been here a year and half and things have changed dramatically even in that short time. Those who went to IAH from training with many promises of becoming a line holder quickly (even possibly right out of training) were not true. There's been 0 movement there in over a year. The same guy has been on the bottom of the 73 there since last November. (A320 is a different story). I use this only as an illustration of how uncertain the uncertainty is.
