Interview date options - Apr 24th (I think) or May 1st (I chose May 1st for more prep time)

28 years in the military
somewhere around 4000-5000 hours, all multi engine heavy jet
Instructor / Evaluator / Chief of Safety

Unbelievably happy (and grateful) for the opportunity to interview.

I'm very new to the process and would be sincerely grateful for any advice or pointers. Thank goodness for resources such as this. I'll do the same as I learn more.

Any suggested study material or prep? I've heard "Ace the Technical Pilot Interview" (maybe old info?), "Checklist for Success"... anything else?
It is a very HR focused interview. I would also recommend a professional prep service. They will help you pick and polish your TMAATS (tell me about a time). The sim is very straight forward, but man the prep helps a lot. PM me with any questions or for other contact info 👍

Flight training international for the sim and Cage consulting for the i-view prep. Emerald Coast does a fine job (I worked with them once before) but Cage is geared towards UA and knows them well. One reason I succeeded is thx to Cage.

If you do nothing else do the Sim prep. I couldn't imagine walking into that cold.

Yeowza. Nice. You'll love your "retirement" job, especially if you're off reserve quickly.

Cage Consulting is one stop shopping. Highly recommend. Also, do the sim prep. Worth the $1200.

I personally used Emerald Coast. I really think any prep is good prep. Cage, emerald, yada yada yada. Every company success is tied to your success so they are vested in your interest. I think the best thing is to see who is availability asap. Then you can be picky based on your friends suggestions and who you felt comfortable with when you talked to them about the program they offer.

My personal reason for Emerald Coast...a friends recommendation and they could fit me in On short notice to a webinar format. It worked great for me personally.

Best of luck. Although you could probably get a CJO without prep I walked out my interview feeling great. The HR lady actually gave me a thumbs up. (I have never had a "positive" experience with hr before). Also I did not do sim prep but I wish I had. If I had more time I would have loved a few min in the sim.

'Gotta agree w/ Spunkram on the short notice...don't delay in trying to get something cause these guys are busy.
I did 2 skype interviews with a pilot and after the FTI sim I met an HR guy for a final brush up and paperwork check the day before the i-view...definitely a confidence shot.
Judy Tarver at Fapa is really good too.

Checkandset.net might be an option too. Run by Charlie V., former head of pilot recruiting at UAL
