JerkStore...
That's the first time I have laughed out loud reading these forums! Hilarious.

4 yr undergrad degree with GPA >3.0.
Examiner/Evaluator experience
Director of Ops/Chief Pilot experience
>100 hours within the last twelve months

So the question is how do people get around some of these? I know a few in my small circle who have gotten the call with less than this.
Kneepads ?.........

Shrek, you maybe onto something, I just can't go there. Bless the poor soul who does. My kissass meter has dropped to zero too. Hoping for some good news this year. Getting down in the dumps.

Hang in there - if you can't control it try not to worry about it. Some never get to that point and it affects their medical in the long run.

Good Luck !

You must be new to the industry. We're on the leading edge of a huge hiring wave. Requirements will loosen over time.
I checked the same boxes as JerkStore; only had >100 hrs in past 12 mos and I was hired.
There will be a few thousand pilots hired at the majors this year; the pool of pilots who can meet all of those checkboxes will shrink considerably for 2016.

I have got three of four of those met. Jokingly, I think sometimes they just throw darts with a blindfold on at wall. Sooooo many qualified people waiting!

The only one that I think is nonnegotiable is the >100hrs in the last 12 months. The rest are things that help an app stand out among the 13,000 that UAL has on file right now. But DAL, AA, and SWA have the exact same stack so don't let it get you down, UAL pilot hiring is regularly sending interview invites that don't get taken. So, if you have the hours and a couple of extra positives without any big negatives (DUI, etc.) I'd think time is on your side.

Is the examiner/evaluator the same as check airman? [/QUOTE] - Yes

I had the GPA, Evaluator, and Director of Ops squares filled, I eeked out the recency, and had zero negatives. But I am still pretty amazed I got invited (crickets from DAL, AA, SWA), especially as I look around at my class and their flying experience (my hours were low in comparison). Best of luck to all.

I didn't have the GPA, Evaluator, or Director of Ops squares filled. Just recency of experience.
I had an interview scheduled with JetBlue (cancelled after being hired by United), and got interview offers from Northwest, Delta, and American while in training at United.

Call me Bottom of the Barrel, Stupid (for not following my gut and going to Northwest and Delta interviews), or stupid bottom of the barrel.

Yes. Examiner is a civilian term, and Evaluator is a military term (in general) and Line Check Airman is also a civilian term, but they all effectively do the same job. - Administer Checkrides. -
