Interview Calls & Hiring Predictions

Based on the information you've provided, there's no guarantee HR has even looked at it the first time.
Have you attended a job fair, or had someone send an email to HR? If no, it's highly likely that HR doesn't even know you exist.

Because Delta doesn't have the resources to hand score their 10,000+ airline applications. At this point in the hiring wave, nearly everybody who has received an invitation for an interview has either gone to a job fair, or had a current or retired Delta Air Lines pilot submit a recommendation directly to HR.
To answer your question, I don't know that the application in question hasn't been scored yet. I'm just going off of the fact that the overwhelming majority of people on these forums who have received an invitation have done one of these two things.

In my opinion, the internal recommendation can only go so far with the simple fact that a large majority of applicants have pilots submitting recommendations for them. The internal recommendation "gives you a look" but if everyone is just as qualified your look may take a while to equate to something. My understanding is that its putting you in a separate pile of applicants which is also very high.
One of my buddies had his application in for a couple years with several HR emails, but didn't get an interview. He attended a job fair and met face to face with the HR rep. He received an interview very quickly after the job fair. It makes me regret the fact that I missed it.

I'm no better at reading the tea leaves than anyone else but I don't think any of the majors anywhere is "hand scoring" anything in the application process...
From what I understand they login to their version of the airlineapps.com interface and select parameters that they want to filter by and that in turn pulls those applications that meet the criteria from the 10,000+ that are on file and spits them back at the person in front of the computer. They then start reviewing more in depth if they choose and start sending invites from there...
That being said... I don't know squat...
My app was on file for around 3 to 4 years, just got the invite at the end of February 2015.

Does HR look through recommendations that are on an applicant's airlineapps and decide if any of them hold more weight than the others? (e.g. VP's vs CP's vs Check Airmen vs line pilots?)
