Not really, I see a lot of new guys wearing them though and a good amount of older guys also. If It's not required I'm not wearing it. For me I just don't like stuff on my head or my face. It took a while before I even started wearing sunglasses.

No. It is not popular and it is not required. I understand that they push it on the new hires but you will find its only a small percentage of the group that wears it. Our contract makes it optional and the company has tried to negotiate it as mandatory a number times but had failed to give us something to make it worthwhile.

Personally, when I see someone in a hat I think they are undermining our group by giving up our negotiating point for nothing. It may not be right, but it is how I feel, and I know a lot of others who dislike people wearing it as well.

So because I want to wear the hat I'm the ***hole now.... alrighty then.

I will most likely wear it, I got used to wearing in when I spent 5 oppressive years at a carrier that not only made it mandatory but you got written up if you didn't wear one. So now it's pretty much a second nature.

Spoke with a new hire on the 200 in DTW. ONE MONTH of reserve. and it was a buildup line off IOE.

Its a slap in our face to take us from DTW just because we do so great in NYC. If they can't handle the operation we can take their planes.
