Compared to new hire regional guys I guess $27k is "good" pay. When I tell my friends what pilot earn these days they cannot believe it and I am always asked "why don't you quit"?

Ewfflyer, What company are you with?

I have a friend who is a CP at a large 135 in Phoenix and he said the quality of their apps/resumes has "tanked" in the past 6 months..

Same is happening throughout the industry except at the top tier.

135 ops have always been hurting for pilots. The QOL for most small to medium companies is down the gutter. Pay as well. It is a tough job and I respect any pilot who has held a 135 single pilot job.

The place I'm talking about hasn't had those problems for the most part in the past.. They fly Citation X, EMB Legacy, DA-2000, start you out at $48K/yr and have a (then 8 on 7 off), now 9 on 7 off schedule... but the work when you're on the road is hard.. lots of legs, work to do between legs, etc..

Swift Aviation.. If you read my last post you'll see it's all Jet. They even have a 121 deal with Pace where they fly a 737 for sports teams.

They've just furloughed again however.. and as with the last time, it was not in seniority order, but by fleet type.. So don't bother to apply.

I am not applying there or anywhere. I already interviewed at my "dream" company.
I will be moving outta here soon hopefull before the summer heat hits again.

PenAir in Alaska. I want to fly 135 for a few years then go to their 121 op in ANC. I do not have SJS. After researching that company and talking to numerous pilots both outside and inside the company, I found that Penair has a very good repulation for safety and employee satisfaction.
