Thank you for saying this. I'm a cfi with a cjo and I have been interested in SkyWest since I started my training in 2014. I sure hope the company brings us back. Don't know why people would hate on a cfi who has busted ass to get hours and get hired.

It's not hating on the CFI or thinking they will take more time or sim rides to pass.
It's the cost of the CTP itself, both in instructor time, and sim time. If OO can bring in 10 pilots without needing to pay for those costs, they are money ahead.
But will they be money ahead in the long run? Chip plays the long game. If he thinks paying for a CFI to go through CTP will have a pilot around for 5 years instead of 3 years those costs are amortized with less training overall.
Anyone here is just speculating on what is going to happen long term. The chips will fall where they do, and no amount of stressing will change that. This whole upheaval is just part of the game, and some will not be cut out for it, while others will thrive in the ups and downs.
new news in an unknown time in the future.

Please take a few moments to read what I posted.

I asked how far back in the pool I would be BEHIND the cfi's.
if I thought I was so mighty with my type rating (in the 170/175) why would I be bootlicking on forums to other regional pilots???
I know CFI's worked hard for that slot because most of us were CFI's. I don't know where you summoned some kinda god complex but take a few steps down pal.

There's some CFI angst out there. If/when you get a chance to apply, you're applying to a great company who will give you a place to hang your hat. Zero complaints here. 220 something before this pilot believes they open it up.

CFI guys/gals.... If you're young and hardworking you will make the show. And thank you for training tomorrow's pilots. No one is minimizing that. But you will see people pass you by. Whether its mil fixed-wing types, Challenger pilots from 135 ops, 121 transfers, these folks will suddenly start with you and quickly move on right to right. That's simply how it is.

Saying "I seriously hope you get bumped above the CFI CJOs/cadets" is hating on CFIs lol.

Also, I don't think any applicant would mind paying for the CTP at this point.

I understand the price of CTP has come down with supply and demand...
