Some are getting fired. Some are going to fly cargo. Some are going to Spirit. Some are going to Breeze. I’ve seen others go to firefighting and corporate flying jobs. Others go back to non aviation jobs.

Some are retiring (the number one guy just did).

Sounds like reserve roulette is still going on from what I have read...

You guys were referring to her as a guy. She wasn't drawing attention to being a female, just wanted to stop being referred to as a dude.

Make yourself a favor and drop the condescension. You wouldn't like it if your flight attendant was calling you she or her, so why she would want to be called a dude. Be a professional. It's not that hard.

Let's both drop it at the same time. Zero condescending comments on my side, just your interpretation. I'm a good professional, thanks for worrying, you be professional too.

I tend to think this will be happening as well.. and I am very excited for that day!

I don’t think there has been a truer statement.

as others have said, you’ll get nothing in writing like you desire. Once you come to understand that by and large a 121 gig is a a part-time career/job, you’ll never be disappointed. It’s a rough industry with no assurances of anything. Except that it spits many people out.

Former xjt here,

are there any ideas on how large the pilot pool is?

like most in the industry I understand the dark side especailly in this situation on how the CFI’s with CJO’s may beat me in.
with that said I was wondering how far in line we would be.

I believe a couple hundred in the pool or sent home from training. (Pilots sent home from training are being called back slowly).

Expect IAH, DFW, or DEN. Although once they fill the gaps in those vacancies it may change.
