I got a CJO and selected CRJ due to the IAH/DFW domiciles, but I know the ERJ is slated to come to IAH on Oct.1. Is there any reason why I should ask to switch to ERJ and try to bid IAH on the ERJ instead? I don't really have a strong preference on equipment but I'd like to get IAH as soon as practical. I didn't know if the ERJ coming to IAH means the CRJ is going away or if it will be a dual base. And even if it is a dual base, would the presence of the ERJ take away from CRJ staffing or do those two types fly for different customers/routes? Appreciate any advice.

Yup, and on top of that, the spots will be filled by the time you are done with training. The only hope you have to get IAH out of training is an insane growth. In the next 6 months.

One of the things the company will do when it opens a domicile is wait several months after opening and then start adding more crews. Moving expenses are only paid on initial opening. (or the first two months..) They are opening on Oct 1 with 36 crews. If they really want 60-70+ it will happen after December 1st. They've only got about 25 FOs that even want to be based in IAH on the ERJ right now. It will be going to new hires, or those currently in new hire training.
And on the moving expenses... Only current pilots going to the new ERJ domicile get them. And you have to move, and it doesn't pay actual expenses.

Denver is seeing a bunch of growth on both aircraft. I don't know what the comute is like now, but there use to be around 20 flights a day on four different airlines.
If you are looking to take the first available upgrade, which will more than likely be on the CRJ, I'd recommend taking that aircraft.

In the earnings call they announced a new contract for 11* more AA CRJ700’s, added to the 20 or 25 CRJ AA crj7’s and 20 AA E175’s. We also added another 175 (9 total now) for Alaska, and extended some contracts. Chip was asked about attrition, and confirmed ground school classes are now full until March.
Now for my own questions. It was my understanding we were planning for 40-45 ERJ175’s for AA, but they were switched to 20 700’s “temporarily”. After the earnings call it doesn’t sound temporary, it sounds like we are sticking with a those 20-25 700’s, and 20 175’s, can anyone confirm that.
Also I’ve heard 200-280 new hires a month. Anyone have a more accurate number?
Also happy to hear them discuss some potential opportunities they’re looking over for future orders and growth. Which would explain the massive hiring they’ve been on recently.
