To those that are researching where to go to start their airline career, a financially stable company is very important and that's one thing that Skywest is good at.
you are right a regional downturn is coming. What you aren’t so correct about is that somehow Skywest is immune. With shrinkage staring them directly in the face, a loss for 2022 and an inability to staff the airline as people go elsewhere, the downturn you speak of will hit here also. It will take longer to get hours and move on. Would be better to be at Commutair and get the time and flow on to United. Skywest left it too late to play catch up. The downturn is here. Losing money is not financially stable. It’s a recipe for disaster ahead.

Good point. I don’t think anyone knows at this point with the fast movement. Especially for those of us previously rated on the ERJ. The next few months will tell the story as DECs can give some feedback on here.

If you work for Skywest you're working for a company losing money.
Clearly no one planned for this so no one knows how it will play out. I’d not call it poison.

I think the tone of the OP was toxic .... "poison". However, the content was speculation, hyperbole and nonsense. Companies lose money often and rebound. Look at Apple, United Airlines and Amazon. OP didn't claim to be smart, just opined with the tone of Chicken Little. The sky will be there when this stabilizes... yes, even if Putin invades and Biden is re-elected

SkyWest airline may be in the negative. But Inc will be even. And the 800mill in the bank can float them for a long time. I see shedding off anything that is not in the long term plan 10+ years. My guess thats 700’s and E175’s…200’s dont cost a dime. So they will keep them and fly as many as we can staff…
