Let them be excited and go to Commutair. Won't be too long till they're putting their apps in to Skywest and be back at the bottom of the list when Commutair closes the doors. A serious regional downturn is coming and Skywest has proven that they can weather the storm a lot better than the other small regionals. To those that are researching where to go to start their airline career, a financially stable company is very important and that's one thing that Skywest is good at.

I TOTALLY agree there will be another (possibility of two) more Regionals added to the graveyard but I highly doubt United allows a “Aviate Carrier” to go, with the exception of Air Wisconsin, since United already refused to renew that contract. They have too much invested in that program, to include the flight school. I do think merger of some AA WO’s might happen and maybe Delta dissolve Endeavor into Delta (brining all onboard and parking the 200’s). I think Republic & SkyWest are the Safest as they don’t have all their routes locked up into one Major. But I do agree both of them need to raise wages, to match inflation

Any insight from anyone on where a DEC would get domiciled? Is LAX immediately attainable for an ERJ DEC?

Honestly, no one can tell you that yet. Since to my knowledge, no one has been hired or at least gone through training as a DEC yet. This was just announced a couple of weeks back.
LAX is senior, or i should say most domiciles west of Denver are senior on both airframes. As FO you can most probably get any domicile within 3-6 months. But as a CA i'd assume you would have to spend time in
DTW(CRJ only)/MSP/ORD/DEN for a bit.

You are good to use both as soon as you get the badge, don’t forget to activate your KCM

Or possibly the same consolidation of regionals happening at UA. If you think about it, that would streamline the process for someone starting at the academy

No way you're getting a West Coast ERJ Captain slot off the bat. It's gonna be DTW CRJ.
