There is only one jumpseat enforcement action in the NTSB legal database and it involved denying the jumpseat to an FAA safety Inspector. So the idea that a captain would be violated for taking a UAL or UAL Exp pilot who is in CASS and has valid documentation is silly.

Half winger is a United only thing. I flew at 3 other ALPA airlines and never heard of it prior to the merger. You’re right about it not being a derogatory label though.

SAPA wrecked what was left of that reputation last week. SkyWest is now the worst of the worst when it comes to reputation. Well done SAPA. You finally achieved something

I will translate this! You guys need to sign the United ALPA drafted and approved JS agreement, that your pilot group had zero input into drafting.
So ironic that UALPA seems to be playing the victim, yet they’re the ones who unilaterally change a JS agreement. Yes I know, it wasn’t really an agreement, just a document with ALPAs stamp of approval, which you guys benefitted from for years.

I’m at Republic, and nope! Not really worried about any career implications, but if I were, I think that will be cleared up very soon.

Control your jumpseats, yes. Deny everyone you disageee with or because you have less priority in the new pecking order, in turn creating a jumpseat war is a different animal. Alpa and United don't take it lightly. It's a fight that won't be won. Being bumped down in priority is nothing new to many of us. The AA/Airways merger wasn't good to everyone. What we didn't do was deny all of American and Eagle pilots.

I’ve already seen a bunch of names floating around taken from the SkyWest SAPA forms...and not surprised with many on it. Some of them lifers, but some not. Interesting times....

Skywest guys are still liked as far as I know. That of course can change depending on where this tiff migrates to. I will say for those who are curious about the process:

Flight Ops sets the criteria for those selected.
During the interview 2/3 of the interviewers are pilots.
UALPA works closely with flight ops and has their ear.
Our pilot group has similar goals and is quick to voice dissent and is persuasive.

So if you connect the dots, I’d caution letting the lifers in SAPA sour the perception/relationship Skywest pilots have with UAL pilots.

FYI (not directed at you TenaciousB) UALPA does not control IT/software, management does. So, that should tell you where UAL management falls on this issue.
