Does airlineapps.com accomodate applications for SkyWest nowadays? There doesn't seem to be a section for OO, but on the official website one may apply. Somewhat confused, this being the first time that I am attempting to apply through airlineapps.com and all.

Do they not keep their own numbers or are they just getting them from the company? I just thought it was a pretty large discrepancy. It would be awesome to have some time of formal communication where they would publish where people were going.

Good question on the bidding thing...is it necessary to bid for sim training? How do they settle to which base they will assign pilots after new-hires finish training? I just applied on the website; the openings for pilot only listed Salt Lake City. Certainly that does not mean that SLC is the only base available? I'm hoping to get ORD.

Man, sorry for the mundanely annoying questions. I've been flying 135 never 121.

If it were me, I'd check the eskimo brothers data base and go with the better numbers

Right now, sim is conducted in SLC, CVG and ATL. That's always subject to change (except for SLC).

After training, you'll go to MSP or ORD as those are the junior bases.

Anybody got any insight or recommendations as far as the different health insurance dental and vision plans? I'm inclined to go with the PPO plan, anyone got any experience with it?

I've heard mixed things about United Healthcare, and mostly positive things about Delta Dental. I was disappointed to see that the company uses EyeMed, which is nothing but a front for Luxottica and a means of funneling customers into its vast subsidiary network.

It depends on your age and family situation. I love the cheapest plan with an HSA because I'm young, have no kids and me and my wife hardly ever go to the doctor. If you're young and don't have a lot of health issues I'd recommend the CDHP. It will save you a lot of money. If you have kids or medical issues you may want the PPO. Someone did a good analysis last year in the SAPA forums about having a baby on the PPO vs having one on the CDHP and the CDHP actually still came out slightly cheaper even with a large expense like that.

I go to an in network dentist and the Dental insurance is worth it. The premiums deducted from my paycheck each year are cheaper than if I had to pay for 2 cleanings at the same dentist out of pocket. Even using it minimally and having no cavities it pays for itself.

Remember when everyone was saying that those who choose the ERJ as a new hire would end up on reserve?
