I believe Republic's inability to staff their flying has changed United's mind for the time being.

The November class went very senior. No one under 4 years was awarded upgrade for the November class. The upgrade time has actually been INCREASING for most of the fall, not decreasing.
I just wanted to add that it wasn't the recruiters that I heard it from ... they were straight-shooters.

Default Attrition numbers

Did anyone else find it interesting that SAPA said on the call today that our attrition is only 28 per month average over the past 6 months? My numbers are 40 per month for April-Sept and MTD October has 36. Are they not including the pilots that wash out of training? Do they not keep their own numbers or are they just getting them from the company? I just thought it was a pretty large discrepancy. It would be awesome to have some time of formal communication where they would publish where people were going.

They've know for quite a while those 30 700s are not getting renewed. They attempted to place them with American and that fell through. Last I've heard is SkyWest will just end up selling them.
They have kept hiring all this time.

37 UA 700s were due to come off contract this year. According to the most recent 8-K there will be no reduction in SkyWest Airline's 65-76 seat CRJ fleet before Jan. 1st, 2016. Those 700s will continue flying, for now.

FO in PDX
5 months
3 months - 175
i thought PDX was a senior base on the 175, it's less than SFO? 3 months is practically right out of training.

Does anyone know what just happend in ORD with seniority on the ERJ ( fo ) not sure about CPT? I just got bumped up along with everyone in my class about 7-8 spots seemingly overnight? Further any idea on how many lines are going to be issued for december? Threading the gap now on being on reserve. Blaahh

They moved about 10 people from ER7 TRG to ORD so that it probably what happened. Last week there were 163 and now there are 173. The SBL closed this morning so they are probably part of that.

If you figure out the method behind the madness regarding lines be sure to pass it along. I haven't been able to figure out how they determine it no matter how I run the numbers. The last couple months look like anywhere between 76-82 to be guaranteed line holder. You can check the reserve list to see how many senior to you are bidding reserve, but that doesn't mean they will bid reserve for Dec.

Not defending our reserve existence, which is awful, but as a lineholder I now get 1 less day off than a reserve does...

It's also not just the number of lines but the quality of lines.

The two worst days every month at SKW are:

The 9th: Lines come out for the next month. Click on PBS and you can see the lines before bidding opens.

The 20th: Well, we all know what happens on the 20th (or the 18th or 19th, which is when the bids seem to be coming out these days). If there's one thing that gives me heartburn, it's opening up that Line 'Award' for the first time...
